Xinji International Leather City, the best place for merchants and visitors to purchase leather products in China, is located at Xinji city in Hebei province.
Xinji has a long history of trading and making leather products, which dates back to the Shang Dynasty (1600 BC-1046 BC). The large-scale leather industry in Xinji started in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and thrived in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
Xinji International Leather City commenced operations in 2010, and many projects are still under construction.
Currently, the leather city has six centers, which house on-site shopping, e-commerce, sightseeing, meeting facilities, product production and raw materials trading.
The shopping center in the leather city is the only 4A-level tourist shopping area specializing in leather products in northern China, where around 1,200 businesses from over 100 countries are currently trading, among which 32 are world famous brands. The number of daily visitors sometimes reaches 10,000 in the busy season.
